Tulsi Gabbard resigns. Sudden resignation at the top of US intelligence

More information coming soon.

According to information obtained by Fox News, Tulsi Gabbard's husband suffers from “an extremely rare form of bone cancer.” She was to inform the president of her resignation on Friday at a meeting in the Oval Office. Her last day of work is June 30.

In her suicide note, quoted by Fox News, she wrote that her husband “will face significant challenges in the coming weeks and months.” “At this time, I must resign from public service to be by his side and fully support him in this fight,” she said.

“I am fully committed to ensuring a smooth and comprehensive transition of power in the coming weeks so that neither you nor your team experience any disruption in leadership or dynamics,” she wrote, addressing the president.

Controversy surrounding the nomination of Tulsi Gabbard

The nomination of former Democrat Tulsi Gabbard to head all US intelligence services was one of Donald Trump's most surprising and criticized moves after winning the presidential election.

What has particularly bothered Gabbard's critics is her attitude toward Russia. After Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine, she tried to blame NATO for aggression and presented Moscow as a victim. It also repeated a narrative known from Russian propaganda, transmitting conspiracy theories about alleged Western “biological weapons laboratories” on Ukrainian territory.
