Mugur Isărescu, reverence in front of Nadia Comăneca. BNR released 3 anniversary coins with the face of the “Goddess”
After meeting with Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan (57 years old) at the Victoria Palace on Wednesday, today, at lunchtime, Nadia Comăneci (64 years old) was present at the National Bank of Romania for the launch of the numismatic show with the theme “50 years since the first score of 10 in the history of the Olympic Games in the women's gymnastics event“.

On this occasion, in the presence of Governor Mugur Isărescu, the BNR honored Nadia 50 years after the moment when a girl from Onești obtained the first 10 in the Olympic history of gymnastics, at the Montreal Games.
Romania decided to honor the success by designating 2026 as the “Year of Nadia Comăneci”, marked by several events. One of them was today.
The NBR launched a gold coin, a silver coin and a copper tombac coin into the numismatic circuit.

The obverse of the three coins, which have different weights, shows the “Montreal Goddess” at the end of the parallel exercise, the inscription “ROMANIA” in a circular arc, the nominal value “100 LEI”, “10 LEI”, respectively “1 LEU”, the year of issue “2026” and the coat of arms of Romania.
The sale prices are 7,800 lei, 1,000 lei and 280 lei, and the coins can be purchased on the National Bank website.
