“I want to fight for trophies and play-offs”

Csikszereda finished the first season in the Superliga well. The newly promoted last summer lasted in the elite league and did not even miss reaching the semi-final of the play-off for a place in the Conference League.

One of the artisans of the Transylvanian season is Eduard Pap, the 31-year-old goalkeeper of those from Miercurea Ciuc. The footballer was one of the best in the Superliga in his position.

Among other things, he is the goalkeeper with the most penalties defended in the championship, 3 in number, and with the most balls saved, 145 in number.

“It was an exceptional year, it really was! We achieved a huge performance with Csikzereda, a lot of people saw us as relegated, with no chance of salvation. We just managed to make a united group, together with the technical staff, with the management, managing to achieve our goal with two stages before the end of the season.

And we had very little left and we were also playing the first play-off for the Conference League, which I think some people didn't even imagine at the beginning of the season.

As for me, I found a very good and professional environment, where I could put my qualities into practice and it showed. I think it was a sensational year at Csikszereda, I still have a contract with the club and I feel very good here.

But if a good offer comes for me and the club, I want us to take it into account because I want to go to a club where I can fight for trophies and for the play-offs,” Pap told Gazeta Sporturilor.
