Florian Wirtz (22 years old) and Nick Woltemade (23) were among Bayern's main targets for this summer transfers window, but according to Karl-Heinz Rummenigge (69 years old), the high financial requirements of Bayer Leverkusen and, respectively, Stuttgart, have caused the club to withdraw other solutions.

Instead, the Bavarians brought Luis Diaz from Liverpool and Nicolas Jackson, in the form of a loan from Chelsea. Wirtz was transferred by Liverpool, and Woltemade took Isak's place in Newcastle. Both teams exceeded, at that time, their transfer records: Wirtz cost 125 million euros, and its compatriot 75 million euros.

Rummenigge clarified Wirtz and Woltemade's missed transfers

After the end of the transfer period, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, former vice-president of the club and now a member of the Supervisory Board, addressed the subject and reminded the financial power of the clubs in the English League.

“To be honest, I think Florian Wirtz would have felt better in Bayern than Liverpool at this time. We could have transferred Nick Woltemade. But I think the club has more reasons not to get involved in all these financial crazy people,” he explained, in an interview given to Die Welt, reminiscent of the Lot.

“I have always said that we want to be successful on the field, but to be serious and financially solid. And this year we have a top team. And if the three injured – Jamal Musiala, Alphonso Davies and Hiroki Ito – will return soon, then we will have a fantastic team,” added the former German football player.
