In Krasnoyarsk, state traffic inspectors detained a driver with an extremely high level of alcohol intoxication, the traffic police press service reported.
A 46-year-old driver in a Chevrolet was detained on Krainaya Street. The man attracted the attention of the police due to careless driving. After stopping the vehicle, police officers conducted an intoxication examination.
“The results surprised even experienced inspectors: the alcohol content in the driver’s exhaled air was 2.205 mg/l. This figure is shocking because it is more than 14 times the permissible limit. Such an extremely high value indicates an extremely severe degree of alcohol intoxication, which jeopardizes not only the life of the driver himself, but also the safety of all road users,” the police noted.

The policeman announced the breathalyzer readings, but the man did not agree with the device’s readings. An administrative protocol was drawn up against the violator under Part 1 of Art. 12.26 Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation. The sanction of this article provides for an administrative fine in the amount of 45,000 rubles and deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to two years.
Police remind drivers not to drive while intoxicated, as this poses a serious threat to road safety and can lead to serious consequences for all road users.
