There will be an important change in NATO. The new structure will protect the eastern flank

Currently, NATO forces in all three Baltic countries, as well as in northern Poland, are under the command of a single multinational headquarters in Szczecin. The planned change highlights the strategic importance of the Baltic countries, which have been in the spotlight since Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
Allocating a second corps to the region will allow NATO to “rapidly build up forces,” as one military official described it. Germany and the Netherlands, in consultation with NATO, have reached an agreement on the assignment of the German-Dutch Corps, stationed in Munster, Germany, to the defense of Latvia and Estonia, military sources told Reuters on Tuesday.
The Dutch Ministry of Defense said in an interview with Reuters that the corps allocation was “currently being finalized” and declined to provide details. The German Ministry of Defense refused to comment to the agency, citing ongoing coordination activities with NATO.
