In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, a tourist compensated for damages for a forest fire on the Esaulovskaya Loop, which began after the launch of a signal flare. This was reported to the regional prosecutor's office.
The damage to the Magansky forestry was estimated at 822 thousand rubles. Another approximately 1.05 million rubles were the costs of extinguishing the fire.
According to the prosecutor's office, on May 1, a group of about 15 people went on a tourist route with the Fifth Element company. One of the participants stepped aside and launched three flares. Two missiles fired normally, but the third changed its trajectory, did not gain altitude and fell into a clearing. After this, the dry grass caught fire.
The man tried to put out the fire on his own for about 10-15 minutes, then reported the fire to the guide and asked to call rescuers. However, due to poor communication and the rapid spread of the fire, it was not possible to control the fire immediately. The tourist himself explained that he usually takes a flare on hikes in case of an emergency, but this time he launched it “in honor of the holiday.”
A criminal case was opened against the man for destruction of the forest. After the intervention of the prosecutor's office, he fully compensated for the damage to the forest fund and the costs of extinguishing the fire.
