A French actor from the series “Emily in Paris” died at the age of 69

The French actor Pierre Deny, who became internationally known thanks to the role played in the TV series “Emily in Paris”, broadcast by Netflix, died on Monday at the age of 69 due to medical complications caused by ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), reports the American publication Variety, quoted by Agerpres, on Wednesday.
Pierrre Deny played the character of Louis de Leon – the CEO of the fashion company JVMA and also the father of Nicolas (Paul Forman), the lover of the character Mindy (Ashley Park) – in seasons 3 and 4 of this very successful TV series.
The daughter of the French actor confirmed his death on Wednesday in a statement to the daily newspaper Le Parisien: “With deep emotion, we announce the death of Pierre Deny, which occurred on Monday following a sudden and severe episode of ALS.”
In addition to his role in Emily in Paris, Pierre Deny has starred in over 100 French films and TV series, including Une femme d'honneur, Julie Lescaut, L'Instit, Joséphine, ange gardien, La Nouvelle Maud, Camping Paradis and Braquo.
Along with his performance in “Emily in Paris”, he was probably best known for his presence in the long-running French soap operas “Plus belle la vie” and “Demain nous appartient”, in which he starred in over 500 episodes.
The filming of the sixth season of the series “Emily in Paris”, which will also be the last, began last week in Greece.
