The National Assessment begins in the 6th grade. Students take the Language and Communication test today

On Tuesday, May 26, 6th grade students will take the first test from the 2026 National Assessment, the one for Language and Communication – Romanian Language. On Wednesday, May 27, the Mathematics and Natural Sciences test will follow, and on Thursday, May 28, students studying in the languages ​​of national minorities will take the Mother Tongue test.

According to the official calendar published by the Ministry of Education, the tests for the 2nd, 4th and 6th grades take place in May.

Testing usually starts at the time set by each school and lasts 60 minutes from the moment students receive the subject booklet. Students take the tests in the classrooms where they usually study, and testing takes place during school hours.

Subjects for the 2026 National Assessment, the Language and Communication test – Romanian language

In the Language and Communication test, the skills of understanding the text and expressing yourself in Romanian are checked. The tests include exercises that combine information from multiple disciplines and emphasize the practical application of knowledge, not just memorization.

The evaluations have an indicative role and follow the level of skills acquired by students, without influencing the general average or admission to high school. Results are communicated individually to students and parents
