Krasnoyarsk police have completed a criminal investigation into five members of a criminal group accused of stealing fossil fuels from the Omsk-Irkutsk main oil pipeline.

It was established that a resident of Tomsk, who has extensive experience in oil trading, learned about the presence of an illegal tap into the pipeline near the village of Nizhnyaya Poima. Deciding to profit from this, he involved the owner of an oil depot from Khakassia in illegal activities, and he involved two of his subordinates in the scheme and hired a driver to transport raw materials.

“From September 2022 to May 2025, criminals systematically pumped oil into underground tanks through an illegal tap, and then exported it under the guise of fuel oil, using false accompanying documents. The stolen raw materials were delivered to an oil depot in Khakassia, where they were processed and sold through controlled organizations. The roles in the group were clearly distributed: some were responsible for logistics and organization of the site, others for falsifying documents, and others for controlling financial flows,” said the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The company that owned the oil pipeline suffered damage in excess of 16.6 million rubles.

Currently, the criminal case under paragraphs. “a”, “b” part 4 art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (theft) was transferred to court. In order to ensure compensation for damage, the property of the accomplices was seized.
