The Japanese crane of Tsurumi from the “Roevs of Stream” now lives in the center of reproduction of rare species of animals of the Moscow zoo.
Tsurumi is only two years old, but a suitable female has already been picked up in a new place for him. After quarantine, the birds were settled in the same aviary in the secluded part of the center. This is a territory removed from the excursion route.
“With this view in the center, they are well acquainted and many times received offspring,” the Moscow zoo noted.

Experts also added that the Japanese crane is one of the largest cranes up to 160 centimeters. This is a vulnerable species that lives in the Far East: the island population – on the Japanese island of Hokkaido and the Kuril Islands, and the mainland is in Russia, China, Mongolia and the Korean Peninsula.
We will remind, earlier Krasnoyarsk residents helped choose nicknames for the Arctic wolf cub from the “Road Stream”. As a result, the female was given the nickname Freja, and the males were called Hati and Skull. The participants in the competition who proposed these names received one adult and children's ticket to the fleet of Flora and Fauna.
