The Ministry of Defense stated that among the targets of the Russian attack were a plant in Lukyanovka and the territory of the command of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces

The bulk of the destruction during the massive attack by the aggressor country of the Russian Federation on the night of May 24 was caused by missiles, which turned out to be too many for the existing resources of the Ukrainian air defense system. Advisor to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Sergei Beskrestnov (Flash) reported this on Telegram.

He explained that the Russian occupiers used mixed attack tactics, but it was the missile component that became the most destructive due to the high load on the air defense. At the same time, the Ukrainian defense forces, according to Beskrestnov, showed better results in destroying Shahed-type attack drones (more than 40%) compared to the average for previous months.

“Small numbers of rocket-propelled missiles tried to attack Kyiv from the north, using both Geranium-3 and Geranium-4. There were few missiles with control; in this attack the enemy relied on mass numbers rather than on efficiency,” Flesh informed.

According to him, no signs of control of attack drones from the territory of Belarus were recorded. However, he noted that it is too early to draw final conclusions, since this may be explained by the fact that the main blow was focused on Kyiv, and not on the western regions of Ukraine.

Beskrestnov also expressed the opinion that the Kremlin could have chosen the targets in Kyiv rather as a formal reason for striking the city.

“For example, the plant on Lukyanovka, where during the war years everything that was possible was destroyed by missiles, or the territory of the command of the ground forces, where there has been no one since the first day of the war, as at all similar facilities in Kyiv,” the minister’s adviser emphasized.

He added that he did not see any new technological or tactical solutions from the enemy in this attack.
