According to the expert, if the noise level is exceeded, the owner of the motorcycle violates public order and faces a fine of up to 3 thousand rubles. However It is difficult to catch a violator – city cameras usually record video without sound. Makarov advises, if possible, to film them on your phone and send the videos to the police.
As a rule, the characteristic roar occurs due to a specially installed direct-flow muffler. For the fact of its presence, the traffic police officer can already issue a fine. In addition, if the motorcycle makes a very loud sound, most likely the driver is breaking the speed limit, for which there is also a penalty.
Another working way is to get a “No Motorcycles Prohibited” sign installed through the local administration or create artificial bumps on the asphalt.
