China has deployed ships to the region. “They are the only problem”

“In this part of the world, China is the only problem that threatens peace and destroys the status quo and stability in the region,” Wu wrote.

The Taiwanese official attached a map to the entry, dated May 23, which shows the area of operation of Chinese units. According to the graphics, the ships are operating in the Yellow Sea towards the coast of Korea and in the South China Sea. The scope of the maneuvers also covers the western part of the Pacific Ocean.

The AFP agency, citing sources in the Taiwanese security services, provided additional arrangements regarding the schedule of the maneuvers. This information shows that the presence of some Chinese ships was recorded even before the US-China summit took place.

As AFP reminds, Beijing treats Taiwan as one of its provinces. The island has remained outside the control of mainland Chinese authorities since the end of its civil war in 1949.
