US Democrats release incomplete report on Kamala Harris defeat in 2024. 'conclusions' section missing entirely

The Democratic Party of the United States made public, on Thursday, May 21, the internal report on the causes of the defeat of its candidate, Kamala Harris, in the presidential elections of 2024. The document, expected for months and considered essential for the reconstruction of the party, however, proved to be incomplete.

The report is devoid of conclusions and sprinkled with warnings regarding the lack of data to support the claims inside, reports AFP, quoted by Agerpres.
Ken Martin, the chairman of the Democratic Party, who ordered the report, said that he decided to publish it exactly as he received it:
“For full transparency, I am publishing the report as I received it, in its entirety, without changes or deleted passages.”
No conclusions and no verified sources
The document is almost 200 pages long, but the conclusions section is completely empty. In its place appears a note written in red:
“This section was not provided by the author” of the report.
Another internal note warns that “the sources, interviews or data underlying many of the claims contained herein have not been provided to the Democratic Party, which therefore cannot independently verify the claims presented“.
The author of the report is Democratic consultant Paul Rivera, a close associate of Ken Martin, who allegedly worked on the document without allocating the time necessary for a full analysis, according to CNN.
The US outlet notes that neither Joe Biden, Kamala Harris nor other high-ranking officials involved in the 2024 campaign were interviewed.
Kamala Harris, the first female vice president of the United States (2021–2025), became the Democratic presidential candidate in the heat of the campaign after President Joe Biden, then 83, withdrew from the race amid concerns about his cognitive decline. Harris was propelled into the race by Biden himself, with no real internal party confrontation.
In the 2024 election, Harris lost decisively to Republican Donald Trump, and since then has made only sporadic public appearances.
Internal pressures to publish the report
Ken Martin has come under pressure in recent months from party members and Democratic supporters to release the document, considered a “post-mortem” necessary after the electoral defeat.
Martin acknowledges the limits of the report:
“The report does not meet my requirements and it will not meet yours either, but I am doing this so that people can trust the Democratic Party and our word,” his statement reads.
Sensitive topics, completely omitted
The report does not touch on the issue of the Biden administration's support for Israel in the Gaza conflict, a topic that analysts see as a factor that has eroded support among young voters for the Democrats.
Instead, the report paints a bleak picture of the party's evolution in recent years, stating that after Barack Obama's 2008 victory, the party “has oscillated between stagnation and regression”.
The document also warns against “an inability or persistent lack of will to listen to all voters”.
