Fight in the Old Center between a group of Romanians and a group of Ukrainians. What the Capital Police say

Two groups of Romanians and Ukrainians, the latter coming for the concert in Bucharest by the Belarusian singer Max Korzh, got into a fight in the Old Center of the Capital, one of the Ukrainians being injured and in need of medical attention. He was transported to the University Hospital, and the other scandal-mongers were taken to the 27th Police Department.

The conflict was reported to the police on Friday morning, around 3:00 a.m., by the Bucharest gendarmes, who managed to calm it down, reports News.ro. According to some judicial sources, the Romanians are members of the Gremium motorcycle group.

The Capital Police informs that on Friday, May 22, around 03:00, the 27th Police Department was alerted by gendarmes of the General Directorate of Gendarmes of the Municipality of Bucharest about a conflict between several people on a street in Sector 3.

“Gendarmes arrived at the scene and found that two groups of people were pushing and aggressing each other. Following the prompt intervention, the conflict was resolved, preventing the escalation of violence. From the investigations, it was established that several people were involved in the incident, both foreign citizens (aged between 17 and 51) and Romanian citizens (aged between 33 and 52). Following the altercation, a 51-year-old man, a foreign citizen, required medical attention and was transported to the hospital,” the Police state.

According to the same source, the police have drawn up a criminal case for disturbing public order and peace and hitting or other violence, under the supervision of the Prosecutor's Office attached to the 3rd District Court.

In this context, the Capital Police recommends citizens to respect the law and the rules of civilized coexistence, thanking those who show responsible conduct.

According to judicial sources cited by News.ro, the conflict took place in front of a club on Covaci Street, in the Old Center of the Capital.

“The Ukrainian citizens are fans who came to Romania for the concert of the Belarusian singer Max Korzh, on Saturday, at the National Arena, and the Romanians are members of the Gremium motorcyclist group,” the cited sources state.

A Ukrainian citizen was transported to the University Hospital, and the participants in the conflict were questioned at the 27th Police Department.

For their part, the representatives of the Gendarmerie inform that, in the context in which one of the people involved in the altercation did not comply with the summons of the gendarmes, they had to use the means provided to immobilize and handcuff her.
