Donald Trump will not attend the wedding of his son, Donald Jr. “Love for the USA does not allow me to do it”

US President Donald Trump announced on Friday that he will not attend the wedding of his eldest son, Donald Trump Jr. with model Bettina Anderson because he has to stay in Washington on official duties, writes Reuters.
“While I wanted very much to be with my son, Don Jr. and the newest member of the Trump family, his wife-to-be Bettina, circumstances related to governance and my love for the United States of America do not allow me to do so,” Donald Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social.
“I think it's very important that I stay in Washington DC, in the White House, during a very important time,” Trump continued.
The wedding is set to take place this weekend on a small island in the Bahamas, CNN reported Thursday, citing two sources close to the event's preparations.
Trump told reporters Thursday that his son would have liked him to attend the event, but it would be “a small, private event.” The president said he would try to make it to the wedding, but the time is not good for him. “I have a thing called Iran and other things,” President Trump was saying.
The Trump administration is engaged in diplomatic talks mediated by Pakistan aimed at reaching an agreement to end the war between Iran on one side and Israel and the US on the other, which began on February 28 and has affected the global economy.
This is the third time that Donald Trump Jr. is engaged. He was previously married for 12 years to Vanessa, a former model and actress, with whom he has five children. Vanessa filed for divorce in 2018.
Later, the eldest son of President Donald Trump became engaged to Kimberly Guilfoyle, an American television star, from whom he split in 2024.
