A woman filmed slapping a teenager across the face in a market in Vaslui was detained by the police
A woman from Galați county, filmed repeatedly hitting a 17-year-old teenager in a square in the municipality of Vaslui, was detained for 24 hours. The incident, which happened on Thursday and was later shared on social media, is now being investigated by the police.

The incident took place on Thursday, May 21, in the premises of the Traian Food Market in Vaslui, with several people, sellers and customers assisting at the scenes of violence. In the images that later circulated on social networks, you can see and hear how the woman repeatedly slaps a 17-year-old teenager in the face, who allegedly cursed her, according to local media.
In the background, you can hear encouragement in which someone urges her to “Give it!”, but also the voice of another woman, who tries to calm her down, telling her “Stop! It's a child! You have children too!”.
Another man seems to intervene in the altercation, who hits a person who was filming the incident.
The author of the post claims that the people involved would frequently cause scandals in the market and would behave aggressively towards both traders and customers.

The woman was detained for 24 hours
Following the appearance of the images and the administration of the evidence, the policemen of the Vaslui Criminal Investigation Bureau detained the woman filmed while slapping the 17-year-old boy.
The juvenile was transported to the Forensic Medicine Service for evaluation, with doctors determining that he needed two to three days of medical care to heal.
“The police found that a man and a 17-year-old minor, both from Ghidigeni commune, Galati county, were allegedly physically assaulted by a woman and a man from the same locality. The minor was presented to the Vaslui Forensic Medicine Service for a medico-legal examination, the forensic doctors establishing that he requires 2-3 days of medical care to heal. In the case, a criminal file was drawn up regarding the commission of the crime of hitting or other violence”, the IPJ Vaslui representatives specified.
“Today, May 22, 2026, as a result of the administration of the evidence, the policemen of the Vaslui Criminal Investigation Bureau took the woman into custody for 24 hours. The investigations are continued by the policemen, under the supervision of the prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Vaslui District Court, in order to establish and prove the entire criminal activity of the people involved in the assault and to order legal measures, in terms of committing the crimes of beating or other violence and disturbing public order and peace”, according to the same document.
