Shock at one of the largest companies in Romania: salaries cut by up to 30% or layoffs

The largest furniture exporter in Romania, Aramis Invest, from Maramureș, has decided to reduce salaries by 10-30% for a large part of the administrative staff, informs the local website 2mmnews.ro.

According to the quoted source, employees who do not agree with the salary reduction decision, can opt for termination of employment in exchange for compensatory salaries established according to seniority.

In addition, some of TESA's employees would be relocated to the production area.

The pay cuts come amid a drop in furniture orders this year.

Until salary reductions are reached, the company also reduced the work schedule to 4 days a week in the first two months of the year, informs the local publication.

Aramis Invest is owned by entrepreneurs Vladimir Iacob (60%) and Marius Șelescu (40%) and had 6,070 employees at the end of 2024, the largest employer in the county.
