Krasnoyarsk is preparing to celebrate its 398th anniversary: this year the regional capital will celebrate its birthday from June 11 to 14. The theme of the celebration will be: “Krasnoyarsk: City of Friendship,” which is based on the preservation of cultural diversity and traditions, the mayor’s office said and presented the program.

So, On June 11 (Thursday), traditionally, mainly official events will take place: in the morning at the stela “Krasnoyarsk – City of Labor Valor” the opening ceremony of the summer season of the Labor Detachments will take place; at 12:00, on the square in front of the administration, the city’s flag will be solemnly raised and a meeting will be held in honor of conferring the title “Honorary Citizen of the City of Krasnoyarsk.” The first day of the celebration will end on the Central Embankment, where at 15:00 a choir of 300 students from children's art schools will perform the Russian anthem and famous songs from films.
On Friday, June 12, Krasnoyarsk will celebrate Russia Day together with the whole country. The Day of Russian Culture will be held on the Central Embankment from 16:00 to 22:00. The program includes a concert, folk and traditional games, master classes, as well as competitions for the longest girl’s braid, original sundress, richest beard, etc. At the end, the folk song ensemble “Krasny Yar” will perform for the audience.
On the same day, the regional patriotic festival “Serving Russia!” will begin on Tatyshev Island at 11:00. with demonstration performances by representatives of law enforcement agencies, an exhibition of specialized equipment, and interactive platforms for children and youth. From 15:00 you will be able to get acquainted with the work of choreographic, vocal, folklore and instrumental groups at the All-Siberian Festival of National Cultures, which will be held jointly with the regional festival of traditional and modern creativity “Siberia Craftsman”.
June 13 and 14 (Saturday and Sunday) Krasnoyarsk residents and city guests are welcome on the Central Embankment, where from 12:00 numerous locations of the citywide project “BRIGHT SHORE” will open. In addition, on June 13 you are invited to a concert with the participation of the Krasnoyarsk Chamber Orchestra and the Musical Comedy Theater. And at the end of the day, the famous cover band from St. Petersburg “Bis-Quit” will perform. On June 14, guests will also be treated to entertainment venues on the embankment, a concert of professional groups, and the Yakhont group will perform at the end.
Also, in honor of the 398th anniversary of the city, artistic and vocal groups of municipal cultural institutions, including the Krasnoyarsk Brass Band and the Chamber Choir, will hold a series of outdoor concerts: on June 12 they will enter Elite, on June 13 – in Minino and Solontsy, and on June 14 – in the Solnechnaya Polyana park, Oktyabrsky Lake Park and Berezovka.
