In Rus', the day got its name in honor of the custom of bathing horses in the river. All the mares and stallions on the farm had to be driven through river water that day (or, even better, doused with it from head to toe). It was believed that this would give them strength and health for the whole year.

Bathing is the height of sowing, this time could not be missed under any circumstances. However, they said that homemade seeds degenerate and become unsuitable for sowing.
