Antena prepares for the public in Romania the most complex viewing experience dedicated to a World Football Championship. Between June 11 and July 19, 2026, Antena will exclusively broadcast FIFA World Cup 2026, the first edition in history with 48 teams, 104 matches and 3 host countries: the United States of America, Canada and Mexico.

Antena is the first commercial television station in Romania to broadcast the FIFA World Cup, consolidating its position as the main destination for the most important sports and entertainment events. After the 2026 edition, Antena will also broadcast FIFA World Cup 2030, becoming the home of the World Cup in Romania for the next two editions.

During the tournament, the public will have access to 104 LIVE matches, hundreds of studio hours, on-site interventions, special guests, Romanian internationals, Romanian champions, Antena stars and dedicated content on all the group's platforms.

The experience will also be extended on AntenaPLAY, where fans will be able to watch all matches live, along with exclusive features and content: two dedicated channels, access to the live broadcast one hour before the start of the match, goals and summaries available almost in real time, special shows with big names in football and entertainment, as well as access to additional cameras compared to the TV signal.

“Antena is the first commercial station to broadcast the World Cup in Romania and we are starting with the most complex edition ever played. From June 11, football fans will enjoy special broadcasts, teams on the spot and an important technological first: the first World Cup broadcast with surround sound in Romania. It is just one of the novelties we are preparing. On AntenaPLAY, subscribers will have access to exclusive cameras, additional content and an experience that starts one hour before the kick-off of each party. Antena is, in the summer of 2026, the place where Romania experiences the World Cup”, declared Mihai Ioniță, CEO of Antena.

For his part, Bogdan Oancea, CTO Antena, said: “Antena annually produces thousands of hours of content at the highest technical standards, from the most loved reality shows in Romania to major live broadcasts. For the FIFA World Cup 2026, the first edition with 48 teams, we have prepared a special experience for the viewers: surround sound for the World Cup broadcasts. It is an important investment, on which dozens of people are working, so that the fans feel more intense the emotion of every match, whether watching the competition on TV or on AntenaPLAY”.

The surround technology will transform watching the matches into a wider experience and closer to the energy of the stadium: the reactions of the stands, the atmosphere of the big arenas and the intensity of each phase will reach the homes of Romanians with a higher level of immersion.

The innovation is supported in a technological project developed by Antena together with Samsung, a global leader in technology, with the objective of offering the Romanian public a viewing experience at the standards of major international events.

In 2026, the main programs and stars of the Antena 1 and Antena 3 CNN stations, together with AntenaPLAY resources, will be dedicated to the most watched sports event on the planet. Special studios, live interventions, thematic programs, summaries, analyses, digital content and social media will transform the World Cup into an event experienced all day long, on all Antena screens.

Get ready for strong emotions. Feel. You live. Vibrate with the World. From June 11, the most beloved event on the planet can be seen LIVE on Antena and AntenaPLAY.
