The Union of Automobile Journalists in Italy (UIGA) responded to the critics of Ferrari chief 1, Fred Vasseur, officializing the French war with the Italian press, a constant critic in his mandate in Maranello or at least this year.

In recent weeks, the Italian press has speculated intensely about Vasseur's future in Maranello – rather that this future would not exist – citing various sources within Ferrari. They claim that the heads of the company consider the director's replacement, the main team in the language used in Motorsport.

At Montreal, present for the Grand Prize of Canada, Vasseur reacted vehemently, qualifying rumors as “disrespectful” and explaining that they negatively affect the team, as Sportal.bg reports.

In reply, Uga explained in a statement that the role of journalists “is not to support a certain team, but to report honestly what is happening.” The organization also stressed that stories should be based on facts, not rumors.

Speculations in Italy have reached an unheard of level, a politician seriously recommending the Scoderia to hire the controversial Flavio Briatore from Alpine. The relationship between Ferrari and the Italian press is a unique case, without equivalent in the world – the journalists argue with “caved guards” and criticize them as vehement when trying to manage the disappointments of the so -called Tifosi.

  • Ferrari was seen as a potential claimant to the title of the builders in 2025, but the monopost designed under Vasseur's eyes disappointed. The Maranello team is the third in the team ranking, with 183 points, 191 under the McLaren leader and 16 under Mercedes.
