The Romanian international watched the match with the team's patron, Mihai Rotaru, and at the end he offered some statements about the triumph of his former club.
Valentin Mihăilă congratulated Craiova University for the event: “To continue and play in the Champions League next year”
“They have done a fabulous thing here and I want to congratulate them! Let him keep going and play in the Champions League next year, let's come and listen to the anthem here. Nothing could be nicer than winning both trophies in this manner. They played a perfect match and the boys deserve only congratulations tonight“, said Valentin Mihăilă at Digi Sport.
Regarding a possible return to Craiova University, the Romanian international pointed out: “I have 3 more years of contract with Rizespor, I am not thinking of returning at the moment”.
Mihăilă also expressed his opinion about the new selector of the national team, Gică Hagi: “So far I have not had discussions with the selector. We met, but we did not get to discuss many things.
We will meet soon in training, we have two friendlies ahead of us. I really want to see how he will motivate us, what he will change about us, what he will try to play. I hope everything goes well and we get results.”
Valentin Mihăilă left Craiova University in 2020, being bought by Parma for the sum of 9.1 million euros.
After 5 seasons spent in Serie A, with a short period at Atalanta, in the form of a loan, the Romanian international was transferred last summer by Rizespor, for the sum of two million euros. In the 22 appearances in the Turkish championship, Mihăilă scored 5 goals and provided 3 decisive assists.
