A native of Krasnoyarsk, Mirra Andreeva, together with Russian tennis player Diana Schneider became the winners of the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) tournament in Rome in doubles.

Russian athletes played in the semifinals with Australian Storm Hunter and American Jessica Pegula, and in the final beat Spaniard Cristina Buksha and American Nicole Melicar-Martinez with a score of 6:3, 6:3, TASS reports.

The athletes won the third WTA doubles tournament. At the Olympic Games in Paris they became silver medalists in doubles. The competition in Rome belongs to the WTA 1000 category, only the Grand Slam tournaments and the WTA Finals are more prestigious. The competition is held on a dirt surface.
