The capital of the aggressor country of Russia was attacked by about 80 drones this night, according to messages from Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin. In total, the territory of the Russian Federation was attacked, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense, by 556 drones. This, according to Bloomberg calculations, is a record number of UAVs attacked.
The agency notes that residential buildings were damaged in several suburbs, and the Moscow Oil Refinery was also hit. This plant, owned by Gazprom Neft, has a refining capacity of about 245 thousand barrels per day and is one of the key suppliers of fuel for the capital region of Russia.
Operations at all four Moscow airports were disrupted but resumed after dozens of flight cancellations and delays. Attacks in other regions of Russia continue.
Adviser to the Minister of Defense on increasing the use of UAVs at the front, Sergei Sternenko, also said that the largest attack on the Moscow region since the beginning of the war was carried out.
“But there will be more later. And in Moscow itself. Everything has its time,” he added.
