FC Argeș and Rapid finished tied, score 2-2, in a spectacular match played in Mioveni. The people of Giulești led 2-0, but the people of Arges came back, they even scored the 3-2 goal, which was later canceled, and in the 90th + 11th minute they also missed a penalty kick that could have decided the game.

At the end of the match, Costel Gâlcă had an extremely harsh speech, in which he spoke about the team's mistakes, the lack of discipline, the problems in the club and announced his departure.

Costel Gâlcă, after Argeș – Rapid 2-2: “We lacked discipline and not only on the pitch, but also off it”

After the draw in Mioveni, Costel Gâlcă analyzed the game, talking about the team's fall in the second half, the missed opportunities and the mistakes that cost Rapid Bucharest.

We had a very good first half, practically they didn't reach our goal. We also had 2-0 situations, but we didn't take advantage. In the second half they made changes, they came with intensity, which I actually expected, and they came with crosses from the sides.

We sat well, but with only one striker they scored the first goal. In the second we had a chance, we could have lost, but from my point of view it was not a penalty. We had the chance to make it 3-2, we didn't make it, and misses reward you,” said the technician.

The coach went on and talked about the problems he sees within the team.

“We lacked goals, discipline and not only on the pitch but also off it. There are more things than discipline, but I told you, to fight there, you need more work and to be more professional.

They wanted in all the matches, but that's all we could give. We also have injuries and that's all we can offer now.”

Costel Gâlcă: “My opinion didn't really matter in the club”

Gâlcă let it be understood that he did not have enough decision-making power within the club.

“They told me that I didn't know how to manage situations. But situations are not managed. As a professional club, you have to do them from the beginning and adjust them along the way.

A lot had to be done, from injuries to everything. I expected more from everyone, let's make decisions. I knew the weaknesses, but I didn't make decisions.

It was good while I was high, but after that I didn't make decisions. I had no decision-making power, so basically my opinion didn't really matter and it was seen over time. I have to say I conveyed, I said my opinion, but if they didn't take it into account, then we do something else.”

Costel Gâlcă announced his departure from Giulesti: “It will definitely be my last match”

In the end, the coach confirmed that he will leave Rapid after the next match, the one against the University of Craiova, once the contract expires.

I wanted to change some things and I couldn't. I've been in football for a long time and I know that if you want to compete in the championship, you have to be more demanding with the players, because that's how the players are, if you open a gate for them, they run away.

They are not spoiled, but I told you, the players are less guilty. It will definitely be my last match with Craiova. I finish the contract and after that I leave”, concluded Costel Gâlcă.
