Extremely busy day for the interim prime minister Ilie Bolojan in Timișoara, where the program started with a meeting at the town hall with the leader of the USR, Dominic Fritz, the city's mayor, and continued with the participation in the graduation ceremony of the 2026 class of the University of the West and a meeting with the local leaders of the PNL.
In Piaţa Libertăţii in Timisoara, in front of the recent graduates, but also in the conference at the PNL headquarters, Ilie Bolojan spoke about the sentimental connection with the city on the banks of the Begăi, with nostalgia.
“Timișoara, as the city of my studentship, remains for me, after Oradea, the second city close to my soul”, declared Ilie Bolojan, speaking about the spirit of freedom of the place that remained impregnated over the years and that left its mark on his professional training, but also as a person.
“When you finish in Timișoara, when you are a student in 1989 and you catch the Revolution, you become imbued with this spirit, why it means freedom, justice, dignity, and from those years, for me, politics was a passion. And, until 2004, I did politics without having any paid positions, but I was present in all the campaigns, because I always believed that injustices can be corrected, that things can be done differently, that we can have better government and a better country,” the interim prime minister testified.
