In Russia, the procedure for passing exams for obtaining a driver's license has changed. The innovations are designed to improve the quality of driver training and eliminate the possibility of accidentally or dishonestly obtaining a license.

The main change concerned the waiting period. Now the period during which the traffic police appoints a practical exam after successfully passing the theory has been reduced from six months to 60 days.
According to the Saratov 24 TV channel, Anton Sinitsyn, Chairman of the Commission on Transport and Road Infrastructure of the Public Chamber of the Saratov Region, called this measure the right stress test for candidates. According to him, the six-month pause was too relaxing – during this time, knowledge of traffic rules had time to fade, and driving skills were dulled. Reducing the period to 60 days keeps students on their toes.
The second important change is the fight against dishonest exams. For the use of hidden microphones, cameras and any cheat sheets at the theoretical stage, immediate cancellation of the results is now provided. Retaking the exam will be possible only after a year.
According to experts, such tightening is a forced and timely measure. The new rules will force driver candidates to take the learning process as responsibly as possible.
