Eduard Danilof, commander of the “Steaua” Army Sports Club, spoke about the plan through which the club could obtain the right to promotion in the first league, but also about the situation of coach Daniel Oprița.

The commander of the “military” approved the statements recently made by Radu Miruță, who claimed that Stela's path to the Romanian SuperLiga is “irreversible”.

Eduard Danilof, about Stela's situation and promotion to the Super League: “The road can't be turned back”

The commander of the club from Ghencea explained that one of the options considered is an association made right inside the structures of the Ministry of National Defense, so that Steaua can obtain the legal right to promotion.

As Minister Miruță also said, if necessary, we make the association by ourselves. That is, through the MApN structures, to obtain that right of promotion through associations within the ministry. Surely, once the announcement comes that we can promote, sponsors will be found. As the minister also said, the road cannot be turned back.

At the same time, Danilof said that the club officials want to continue their collaboration with Daniel Oprița, the technician who took the team from League 4 to League 2.

Daniel took us from the fourth league to the second. If he also wants to continue with Steaua, we have no problem doing that. We would like to continue. No one knows the team like Oprița, I am convinced that they would also have results in League 1.

There were discussions at staff level, we have the list of players with whom we would like to extend. But the lack of budget made us stop negotiations. We are resuming them as quickly as possible as soon as we have sufficient resources to do so. We are a public institution, we cannot employ money we do not have. It's not possible”, declared Eduard Danilof, according to as.ro.

CSA Steaua is still “blocked” in League 2

CSA Steaua does not have the right to promotion in the Superleague because it operates as a club under public law, directly subordinated to the Ministry of National Defense.

According to the Sports Law no. 69/2000, only clubs organized as private law entities can participate in professional competitions.

In addition, the FRF and LPF regulations state that departmental or state teams cannot obtain the necessary license to participate in the first league, a rule also aligned with UEFA's requirements regarding the independence of professional clubs.
