Marius Antoche, 33 years old, was dismayed by the elimination from University of Craiova – Unirea Slobozia 3-1. It was the 34th minute when the visitors' stopper saw the red card.

Unirea Slobozia lasted more than half an hour without conceding a goal in Bănie. The 1-0 success came a minute after Marius Antoche was eliminated by the “central” Florin Andrei.

Called by his colleagues in the VAR room to review the duel between Antoche and Romanchuk, in which the defender of Slobozia hit his opponent with his arm across the face, the “central” considered that a red card was required, which he showed to the defender of the guests.

After the match, in the flash-interview, Antoche expressed his displeasure with that decision.

Marius Antoche, eliminated in Craiova – Slobozia: “The referee said it was an involuntary kick. I don't know what happened next”

“I don't even know what to say. It was contact, but I say with my hand on my heart that I had no intention of hitting the opponent in the way that I received a red card. I don't know what the VARs thought, but it's their decision and I can only accept it and wait for the stages of the suspension to be served, then I can help my team again.

I'm sorry, because the guys put in a fantastic effort. 10 out of 10 things would have been different. We have to move on, it's just a losing battle, we don't have to make a tragedy out of it.

All I tried was to get rid of the opponent so I could attack the goal. From what I saw on the replay, he had his head down a little, and when I left, my hand was here (no – showed the position), because I tried out of inertia to go towards the gate. That I hit him… I don't know how hard the hit was to be a red card.

I really don't want to discuss more. From what I saw, before going to VAR he would have wanted to let the game go, in that melee he said it was an unintentional, involuntary hit. Further, I don't know what happened”, were Antoche's words to PrimaSport.
