In the village of Baykit, Evenki District, on the night of May 13, a fire occurred in a two-apartment residential building, which resulted in the death of one person. This was reported to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
By the time rescuers arrived, two apartments on both floors were burning and there was a threat of the fire spreading to neighboring buildings.
At 7:40, 11 people and 3 units of special equipment extinguished the fire on a total area of 104 square meters. As a result, one apartment and a bathhouse were completely burned out, and the fire also damaged the roof of the second apartment.
“During the fire extinguishing, a dead man was discovered who was on the sofa in the bedroom. According to the preliminary version, the cause of the fire was carelessness while smoking,” the Ministry of Emergency Situations said.
