The citizens of Constanta received an RO-Alert message on Tuesday, May 12, around 4:30 p.m., due to the storm. They are advised to avoid travel and take shelter measures.

According to Focus Press, meteorologists have issued a Code Orange warning of strong gales, frequent electrical discharges, medium-sized hail (2-4 cm), torrential showers that will accumulate 25…40 l/m2 and wind.
The code was valid on Tuesday, May 12, between 15.40 and 17.10.
Targeted areas: Medgidia, Cernavodă, Hârșova, Cobadin, Ostrov, Băneasa, Mircea Vodă, Rasova, Lipnița, Ciobanu, Crucea, Peștera, Independenza, Oltina, Aliman, Ghindărești, Deleni, Saligny, Adamclisi, Dobromir, Seimeni, Ion Corvin, Topalu, Gârliciu, Tortoman, Siliștea, Saraiu, Horia, Vulturu, Dumbrăveni.
The National Meteorological Administration (ANM) also transmits that another Yellow Code will be in force on Wednesday, between 10:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., and it also targets wind intensifications, in the counties of Mehedinţi, Gorj, Vâlcea, Argeş, Dolj, Olt, Teleorman, Giurgiu, Ilfov, Ialomiţa, Călăraşi, Constanţa and in the city of Bucharest.
“In Oltenia, the west and south of Muntenia and the south of Dobrogea, the wind will intensify with gust speeds of 50…70 km/h and isolated 80 km/h”, ANM showed.
Also, from Tuesday, temperatures will drop sharply in the west and northwest of the country, and then in the rest of the territory, so the weather will become colder than usual for this period.
In the mountains, in the ridge area, there will be precipitation in the form of sleet and snow.
“In Banat, Oltenia, Muntenia, Dobrogea, most of Transylvania and Moldova and in the mountain area, the weather will be unstable.
There will be intensification of the wind, in places gales (gusts of 50…60 km/h and isolated 70…90 km/h), hail and torrential showers accompanied by electrical discharges. In short time intervals (1…3 hours) or through accumulation, the water quantities will be 15…20 l/m2 and isolated 30…40 l/m2″, ANM sent.
People have posted spectacular images on social networks of storm clouds, but also hail “as much as a quail's egg” that fell in the Dumbrăveni area in the south of the county.
