On May 12 in Odessa, a paving slab fell under the feet of a 10-year-old child. This was reported by the Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Odessa region on Facebook.
The child found himself in a deep hole. “4 m underground,” the rescuers indicated.
“Concerned passers-by immediately rushed to help. However, it was too risky to get the girl out on our own: there was a threat of another collapse, which could simply drown the child,” the message says.
Until the rescuers arrived, passers-by constantly communicated with the child so that he would not panic. Also, her father was in touch with the girl all this time.
Five minutes after the start of the rescue operation, the child was raised to the surface.
The girl was examined by doctors. The child’s life is not in danger, the State Emergency Service added.
