Currently, the authorities are waiting for the forensic doctors' report, while the College of Doctors and DSP are verifying whether the newborn's life was ended by the indifference of those who should have saved him, Libertatea writes.

The case also came to the attention of the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Bucharest Court.

The baby was born in January at six months and one week, and his condition is said to have seriously deteriorated in hospital.

The family claims that the baby would have contracted a nosocomial infection during hospitalization, and the parents attached to the complaints submitted to the authorities images from the last days of the newborn's life, which they describe as shocking. The child died on March 17.

Later, the representatives of the maternity ward reported that “there is research involved”, but no information can be transmitted during it.

Last year, also at this maternity hospital, the gynecologist Florian Robe was sent to court for attempted murder.

“The Bucharest Court of Appeal definitively rejected his appeal to the preliminary Chamber and found that the evidence submitted by us and collected by the prosecutors can stand and as such the doctor should be sent to court”according to the lawyer Adrian Cuculis.

Dr. Florian Robe is a gynecologist at the Polizu Hospital in the capital. He was accused in 2023 of attempted qualified murder, after in 2019 he allegedly refused to provide care to a newborn girl, declaring the birth to be a miscarriage.

Moreover, he threw the child in the trash, even though he was alive. Witnesses say that the baby, if it had not been thrown in the garbage, should have been taken to an incubator.

According to the prosecutors from the Prosecutor's Office of the Bucharest Court, those who took over the case, Florian Robe, for reasons still unknown, refused for 12 hours to give the child the necessary care.
