Orlen reacts to Russia's propaganda. “We will write longer than usual”

“There was a parade in Moscow on Saturday, and Kremlin propaganda on the Polish Internet launched another attack on ORLEN and Poland. That's why today we will write longer than usual” – are the first sentences of the company's statement.

Anatomy of manipulation. Orlen refutes lies from Russia
As Orlen describes, the main tool of disinformation became an authentic document of the National Tax Administration and the Ministry of Finance. It shows that the average price of fuel exported to Ukraine in 2025 was PLN 2.94 per liter. Propagandists compared this amount with Polish wholesale prices, which were almost PLN 2 higher, suggesting a huge loss for the company.
Orlen explains that this is a classic example of data manipulation. The export price given in customs documents does not include excise duty and other national levies and fees.
“The truth is, therefore, that the Polish wholesale price without levies and fees, calculated in the same way as the Ukrainian one, was then PLN 2.84. […] In Poland, ORLEN sells fuels whose price, net of taxes, is lower than the price of fuels exported to Ukraine“- we read in the announcement.

Purpose: to cause anger and anxiety
Orlen's representatives emphasize that the company not only does not lose money on fuel sales to its eastern neighbors, but also makes money. According to the company, the purpose of Russian disinformation is to build a false sense of injustice among Poles and to undermine trust in domestic enterprises.
“The aim of Russian propaganda is to build the opposite belief. All this to cause anger and anxiety, to create differences and to undermine citizens' trust in their country and in Polish companies.” – reports the company's press office.
There will be a notification to law enforcement authorities
The company announced that will not limit itself to correcting false information on social media. The case has already been reported to the relevant state authorities. Additionally, the company intends to bring its own lawsuits against entities responsible for distributing disinformation.
“Just sending them after the Russian ship will not be enough,” Orlen sums up, referring to the famous slogan of the defenders of Snake Island and announcing an uncompromising fight against cyber threats from the Kremlin.
