“Polish Nuclear Power Plants (PEJ) is strengthening its presence in the region of the first Polish nuclear power plant. Due to the progress of investment works, the company has just opened an office in Gdańsk and decided to move its headquarters to Pomerania,” it was written.

It was added that the changes are a natural consequence of the implementation of the schedule and assumptions of the nuclear project.

They will also translate into intensified contacts and cooperation with authorities, administrative bodies, local governments and residents of Pomerania. More and more advanced field work, as well as numerous meetings with Pomeranian entrepreneurs and authorities, require the constant presence of project teams on site, the company explained.

Polskie Elektrownie Jądrowe is a company responsible for, among others, for preparing the investment process and acting as an investor in the project of building the first Polish nuclear power plant with a total installed capacity of 3.75 GWe.

“We have three goals: to launch the first reactor by 2036, stay within the budget and make maximum use of the potential of Polish companies. Local content is not a slogan. It is the real participation of domestic entrepreneurs in the project,” said Marek Woszczyk, president of PEJ, on the occasion of the opening of the office, quoted by the company on the X platform.

This year, PEJ plans, among others: start the second stage of preparatory work for the construction of the power plant. Activities will include, among others: preparation of the remaining infrastructure necessary for construction, including technical and social buildings, car washes, roads, parking lots, warehouses and concrete mixing plants.

“The works will begin after obtaining a permit for the second stage of these works, for which the company submitted an application to the Pomeranian Voivode in September 2025.” – noted the company.

The Gdańsk office of PEJ is located in the office complex at ul. Jana z Kolna 11.

By the end of the year – according to the company's information – the Gdańsk office will employ over 50 people responsible for such project areas as security, purchasing processes, local content support, implementation, accompanying infrastructure and health and safety.

“Employment in the region will be gradually increased as the project progresses. The first recruitments to strengthen the Pomeranian PEJ team are already underway. By the end of the year, the company is planning further employment in order to supplement the necessary competences and provide appropriate resources for further project work,” the press release said.

PEJ emphasized that the opening of the office is an element of a larger process, which is the relocation of PEJ's headquarters to Gdańsk.

“The decision on this matter has already been made by the PEJ Shareholders' Meeting, and the transfer of the registered office will take place on the date of registration of changes to the Company Agreement in the National Court Register, about which the company will inform in a separate announcement. At the same time, PEJ will maintain the Warsaw office and the current level of employment there,” it was reported.

On Monday, the company announced that the supervisory board of Polish Nuclear Power Plants decided to dismiss Piotr Piela from the company's management board as of March 2.

As reported, Marek Woszczyk is still the head of the PEJ company, and the management board also includes vice-president Bogumiła Ożarska-Karbowiak and vice-president Tomasz Szubiela.

Polskie Elektrownie Jądrowe (PEJ) is 100% owned by to the State Treasury and is implementing the project of the first nuclear power plant in Poland. (PAP Business)
