In Krasnoyarsk, a wary thief and his friend received suspended sentences for stealing construction materials

In Krasnoyarsk, a man was afraid to commit theft alone and called a friend with him, the police said.

In August 2024, the police department in the Severny microdistrict received a statement from the owner of a beauty salon about theft. Unknown attackers stole craftsmen's tools and building materials intended for repairing the premises. The woman said that workers noticed the theft when they found the door to the premises open. The damage was estimated at 350 thousand rubles.

“During the operational activities, the identities of the suspects were established; they turned out to be two Krasnoyarsk residents born in 1986. and born in 1979 The police found out that the youngest of them saw the open door to the room where renovations were going on and decided to steal the property. However, he didn’t dare do it alone and called a friend who had a car,” the press service said.

The two men loaded the stolen goods into the car and then divided the loot among themselves. They took the construction equipment and sold the tiles for 20 thousand rubles. During the investigation, the men compensated for part of the damage and also partially returned the stolen property.

The Sovetsky District Court of Krasnoyarsk, having considered the criminal case investigated by the police investigator under Part 3 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Theft”, sentenced the accused to 1 year 3 months and 1 year 6 months of suspended imprisonment. The verdict came into force.
