Well-known actor who preferred country life to Hollywood fame: “I didn't want to die alone” / He says what made him realize what's important in life

A Hollywood star considered a real sex symbol, Adrian Grenier appeared in numerous films and series in the early and mid-2000s. But in recent years, he chose Texas over Hollywood, reports People magazine.
One of Grenier's best-known roles was as Nate Cooper in the 2006 film The Devil Wears Prada. The long-awaited sequel, The Devil Wears Prada 2, hit theaters on May 1 and grossed over $230 million in its opening weekend alone.
The film debuted at number one at the box office, but Grenier was not among the original cast members who returned after two decades to star in the new feature. He hinted that this would be a film he would return to Hollywood for.
“I recently spoke with David Frankel, the director,” he told People magazine. “I was disappointed… But, you know, apparently my character is a controversial one, so maybe he needs his own spin-off,” he joked.
But the actor who rose to fame playing Vincent Chase on the Emmy-nominated HBO series “Entourage” said over the years he had trouble keeping up with the demands of Hollywood life and decided to try entrepreneurship. He was a partner in several businesses, including a microbrewery and a production company, before buying a trailer and spending time in Texas in 2016.
It was the year after which he dramatically reduced his appearances in Hollywood productions.
The actor bought a ranch in Texas
Grenier told Foundr magazine in 2024 that during his time in Texas, he became involved in environmental activities and eventually bought a sprawling ranch near Austin. He lives there as of 2020 with his wife, Jordan Grenier, and their two children.
“I really liked the simple, authentic vibe,” he told People magazine in September 2023, referring to his move. “There's not much of a rush for social status, not a lot of image-obsessed people. Everyone wears, metaphorically speaking, cowboy boots and hats.”
Grenier, who was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico, but was raised by his mother in New York, continued, “A lot of times, in big cities, I always felt like I had to keep up with others. But here, you feel like there's a lot of acceptance… When I wake up here, I don't have to go anywhere. I'm already where I need to be.”
Although he had been active in environmental activism for years, the actor says he bought the 46-acre property to become “a better steward of nature every day, through lifestyle, not just as an idea.”
“You sleep better, you're more balanced, you have an overall sense of well-being,” he said of farm life. “It's good for mental health, for skill development, for resilience and all of that; I think it allows you to make more informed and wiser decisions about how you live, how you treat others, and especially how you treat the environment.”

Adrian Grenier states that a breakup made him realize what is important in life
In the last 5 years he has agreed to act in only one film, a romantic comedy called “You, Always”, released in Australian cinemas last year. He said he was drawn to the fact that the filming took place in a remote area of Queensland.
But he spends most of his time with his family. Grenier and Jordan have two sons: Seiko Aurelius Grenier, who was born in June 2023, and Evren Saint-Eros Grenier, who was born in March 2025.
He recounted in a May 2024 interview for the podcast hosted by Canadian psychologist Jordan Peterson that a previous breakup with his future wife made him understand what was really important. The two officially married in 2022.
“I didn't want to die alone,” Grenier said. “I wanted a family, I wanted a partnership, I wanted to have children,” he stressed.
