The Kremlin says the prisoner exchange will take place during the truce

The exchange of prisoners, which Ukraine and Russia agreed upon, will take place on May 9–11, said Yuri Ushakov, assistant to the illegitimate Russian President Vladimir Putin, as quoted by the Kremlin’s Telegram channel.

According to the Kremlin, the truce was declared not for the May 9 parade, but for the exchange of prisoners.

“An agreement on this matter was reached during our telephone contacts with the administration of the US President. US representatives, in turn, were in touch with Kiev. The main thing that was agreed to be carried out during the truce period – from May 9 to May 11 inclusive – was an exchange of prisoners of 1,000 people on each side,” Ushakov said.
