A resident of Nazarovo had to prove the fact of her birth in court. As they told the Nazarovo City Court, the woman was born in 2003 in a remote village of the Turukhansky district of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
The birth took place at home, a medical certificate was not drawn up, and a medical record was not made either. The village where the woman lived is located in a remote area and has no official status. Due to river floods, communication with it is severely limited; there is no hospital or school there. The applicant did not attend kindergarten or school.
Due to the lack of a vital record, she does not have a birth certificate, passport, medical insurance or other documents.
The only written document that was drawn up for her from birth was a medical card at the Vorogov outpatient clinic. According to the woman, her parents, due to religious beliefs, did not register the birth of either her or her brothers and sisters.
It was not possible to obtain a certificate out of court. The court examined medical documents, witness statements and satisfied the woman’s demands. Now she will be able to obtain an identity card and exercise her rights. The decision has not yet entered into legal force.
