CFR – Univ. Craiova: Oltenians can become champions
Morale is high in both camps ahead of this crucial duel for the hosts. CFR Cluj is in 3rd place, with 40 points, and only victory keeps it in the calculations, considering that the guests lead the Superliga with 45 points. If Doljenii wins, and U loses at home against Rapid, the team from Bănie will mathematically be champions.
The white-cherries are not giving up in the race for the title, winning the previous stage with 2-1 at Rapid. Daniel Pancu's team has three victories in a row, and in the last six stages it has lost only once, in a 0-2 even in Craiova. A reason for optimism for the hosts is that they have never conceded at home to Daniel Pancu, their last failure in Gruia dating back to October 25, 0-1 with Farul.
Craiova won dramatically last weekend, 2-1 against Dinamo, thanks to a goal scored in extra time. Filipe Coelho's students are at four consecutive triumphs, here also taking into account the 11-meter victory against Dinamo, in the semi-finals of the Cup. Their last failure was suffered in Cluj, on April 13, when they lost 4-0 at the University. The Oltenians have a solid defense, conceding only 33 goals, just one more than Cluj University.
Craiova came out well from all the disputes this season against the team from Gruia. In the regular season, the white-blues defeated Cluj 3-2 in the fief, then it was 1-1 in Bănie. In the Cup, the Juves won 3-1 at home, after extra time, in order to beat CFR once more, 2-0, in the round of this play-off.
The last victory of CFR was achieved at home in April 2025, 2-0
Probable Teams:
CFR: Popa-Braun, Sinyan, Huja, Camora-Keita, Muhar-Cordea, Korenica, Biliboc-Zahovic
Craiova: Popescu-Romanchuk, Rus, Screciu-Mora, Mekvabishvili, Cicâldau, Matei, Teles-Nsimba, Al Hamlawi

U Cluj – Rapid: the hosts, moral advantage
The black and whites are on the coast of Craiova, on 2nd place, with 42 points, and they are aiming for a triumph that will not alter their chances for the title. At first glance, U Cluj is the clear favorite before the visit of Rapid. The Bucharesters are only 5th, with 32 points, and they are in the sights of their own fans after the poor series this spring.
U Cluj comes after a hard-earned triumph in the end, 1-0 against FC Argeș, thanks to a penalty converted in extra time by Nistor. In total, Cristiano Bergodi's team is at no less than 11 consecutive official victories at home. In addition, the black and whites have the best defense in the first division, with 32 goals conceded.
Rapidists are at three consecutive failures, after a 1-2 at home with CFR Cluj. Costel Gâlcă's team is without a win in six matches. And outside, the white-cherries have not triumphed since March 2, 2-1 at Unirea Slobozia. The speedster scored only six times in the play-off season.
U Cluj won the last two direct matches, both in Bucharest, 2-0 and 2-1, respectively. Rapidists have no win against the black and white in the last eight head-to-head games.
Probable Teams:
U Cluj: Gertmonas-Mikanovic, Cristea, Coubiș, Chipciu-Drammeh, Bic-Macalou, Nistor, Mendy-Trică
Rapid: Aioani-Onea, Pașcanu, Kramer, Borza-Keita, Grameni, Christensen-Dobre, Paraschiv, Moruțan
Dinamo – FC Argeș: the “dogs” will get revenge
The white-reds are in the race to catch at least one play-off spot for the Eurocups. Dinamo is in 4th place, with 34 points, and has a great chance to remain in the calculations, especially since Sunday's guests, FC Argeș, are in the last position in the play-off, with 30 points.
Zeljko Kopic's team lost the last leg at the end, 1-2 in Craiova. But, he won in the last two Superliga home games, 2-1 against U Cluj, respectively 3-1 against Rapid. Interestingly, each of the last six official matches of the red and white have had GG.
The Pitesti have only taken five points in the play-offs and have the weakest attack in the group for the championship, with only two goals scored in seven disputes. Their last victory was on March 13, 1-0 in Craiova. Last stage, they lost 0-1 to U Cluj, being now seven competitive games without any triumph.
Dinamo hopes to take revenge after failing to win any of the three straight games against the purple-white team in this championship. It was 1-1 at Mioveni and 1-0 for Argeș in the capital, in the regular season. And in the play-off, it was 1-1 on the field of Pitesti. Dinamo has only one victory in the last eight official disputes held against the group from Trivale.
Probable Teams:
Dynamo: Epassy-Sivis, Boateng, Stoioanov, Opruț-C.Mihai, Gnahore, Cîrjan-Armstrong, Pușcaş, Musi
Arges: Cabuz-Tudose, Sadriu, Garutti-Oancea, Sierra, Rață, Blagaic, Borța-Matos, Bettaieb
