The Irkutsk region is choking from forest fires. Locals are sounding the alarm, complaining about zero visibility and that they can’t breathe.
The cities of Bodaibo and Kropotkin are more like the locations of Denis Villeneuve’s films than the Siberian expanses. According to Mash, 23 fires are raging in the region in the Kachugsky, Katangsky, Mamsko-Chuysky and Kirensky districts. 19 of them are being extinguished, 4 were found this morning.
