The Presidium of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee adopted a resolution on the transformation of the Birobidzhan National District into the Jewish Autonomous Region, which is part of the Far Eastern Territory.

Immediately after the release of this document, the Far Eastern Executive Committee decided to divide the territory of the Jewish Autonomous Region into five administrative districts: Birobidzhansky, Birsky (now Obluchensky district), Mikhailo-Semyonovsky (now Leninsky district) and Stalinsky (now Oktyabrsky district).

The newspaper “Birobidzhan Star” (12+) published a greeting from Hero of the Soviet Union M.V. Vodopyanov, which says:
“On behalf of the entire flight crew making the Arctic flight Moscow-Cape Schmidt-Moscow, I am sending through the newspapers Birobidzhanskaya Zvezda and Birobidzhaner Stern” (12+) Warm greetings to the workers, collective farmers and all workers of the Jewish Autonomous Region, which is celebrating the first anniversary of its existence.
The whole country is following the work and development of the young region. We rejoice with you in your first successes. But don't rest on this.
By persistent hard work in all areas of socialist construction, strengthen the friendly family of nationalities of our great beloved Motherland.”

“Birobidzhan Star” for May 7, 1936, on the fourth page, published notices and announcements about upcoming festive events dedicated to the second anniversary of the formation of the Jewish Autonomous Region.
So one of them said:
“On the occasion of the second anniversary of Ev.A.O., an architectural exhibition of civil and industrial construction projects (0+) in Birobidzhan is opening in the State Theater. The exhibition will feature projects, sketches of facades and construction plans, a model of the first stage of city reconstruction.
In the large hall of the Jewish school, in commemoration of the second anniversary of Ev.A.O. There will be a big Masquerade Ball (6+). The best costumes, dances, and games will be awarded. A large buffet has been organized and two orchestras are playing. Masks are sold at the entrance…”

A joint plenum of the regional committee and the Birobidzhan city committee of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks was held, dedicated to the celebration of the second anniversary of the Jewish Autonomous Region.
The documents of the plenum note that in two years the gross output of fishing cooperation increased from 3 to 12 million rubles. Two furniture factories, a timber factory, brick factories and other enterprises were built.
“A sewing factory, designed for 2.5 thousand workers, a wagon train, plywood, lime factories, a printing house, and a power plant are being built and will be put into operation in 1936.
In two years, the sown area has increased by more than 2 times, the number of tractors has increased by 3 times, combines by 11 times, and cars by 7 times.”

In the year of the 50th anniversary of the formation of the Jewish Autonomous Region, a ceremonial meeting of the regional committee of the CPSU and the executive committee of the Council of People's Deputies of the Jewish Autonomous Region, a mass theatrical performance dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the formation of the Jewish Autonomous Region at the Stroitel stadium, a theatrical concert at the regional philharmonic, fireworks, and mass celebrations in the park of culture and recreation were held – these became the main festive events.

Theatrical performance (6+) took place at the Stroitel stadium, which could accommodate 15 thousand spectators. The holiday became a kind of creative report of the Jewish Autonomous Region.
The program of the anniversary evening included the best professional and amateur groups of Birobidzhan and the region. The sports part of the holiday was attended by teams from the city’s sports schools, sports sections, sports clubs from the House of Culture, and secondary schools. In conclusion, the athletes performed the “Harvest” composition with ears of corn, and a complex, multi-figure composition on the “Vase” structure. The final composition of the sports part of the holiday was the composition “Star”.
For the 50th anniversary of the Jewish Autonomous Region, photo albums, booklets, posters, commemorative badges and signs were released.

In honor of the 70th anniversary of the end of the Great Patriotic War, the grand opening of the Alley of Heroes of the Soviet Union and full holders of the Order of Glory who lived in the Jewish Autonomous Region took place in Victory Square in Birobidzhan. The honorary right to open the Alley of Heroes was given to relatives of Heroes, veterans, and schoolchildren.
