Over the four months of 2026, DTEK invested UAH 5 billion in preparing thermal power plants (TPPs) and coal mines for the summer consumption peaks and the heating season next winter. This was reported by the DTEK website.
“According to preliminary data, in January – April 2026, DTEK Energy invested about UAH 5 billion in preparation for the summer peaks of consumption and the next heating season. The company allocated the bulk of the funds to the repair campaign and restoration work after enemy attacks, as well as to support more reliable operation of thermal generation and coal enterprises,” the statement says.
According to the company, during the last heating season, DTEK thermal power plants were subjected to 11 massive attacks, which led to significant destruction.
Since the start of the full-scale invasion, the company's thermal power plants have been subject to more than 220 attacks.
“We continue to restore non-stop, because the scale of damage remains unprecedented. The restoration of thermal power plants after the shelling will last throughout 2026 and beyond. Our task is unchanged – to restore capacity as quickly as possible so that Ukrainians remain with light and heat, and the energy system is more stable, especially during periods of peak loads,” said DTEK Energy CEO Alexander Fomenko.
