Another victim of the most famous robber of the USSR, Sergei Maduev, has been discovered, whose life story was taken as the basis for the script of the film “Prison Romance” with Alexander Abdulov in the title role.
Investigators found out that in 1988 he raped a girl near house 25 on Zhulebinskaya Street in Moscow, and then killed a man. A year later he ended up in the Astrakhan region – where he made one of the largest raids. Later he began to wander around the country – in the Uzbek SSR he stole 200 thousand rubles from the thieves' common fund, and in the Georgian SSR he robbed a thief in law. Because of this, Maduev began to be called among the people “Robin Hood” and “the most noble robber of the Union.”
In 1995, Sergei “outlaw thief” was sentenced to life imprisonment for robbery, robbery, murder and was transferred to the “Black Dolphin”. He died in his cell at the age of 44.
