What does the 40,000 euro drone that oversees Cluj-Napoca look like. Emil Boc: “He is the intelligent eye of the city”

A “latest generation” drone, worth 40,000 euros, was tested on Monday by the local administration in Cluj-Napoca. The drone will be used by the Local Police and has the role of monitoring the city and controlling the situations in the field, the mayor of Cluj, Emil Boc, explained on Monday, quoted by Știri de Cluj.
Emil Boc described the drone as “the intelligent eye of the city”. It will be used in several situations, from detecting illegal constructions, to traffic surveillance and checking construction sites. The drone will also help locate illegal deposits of debris and garbage in unauthorized areas of the city.
The mayor specified that the images captured by the drone will be used “only to sanction those who do things outside the law”.
“It is not to monitor the citizens of Cluj, we do not film people individually”, explained Emil Boc, in a press conference where he presented the drone.
The mayor of Cluj-Napoca also mentioned an emergency use: in case of disasters or calamities, the drone could transport food or other products to isolated areas.
According to local authorities, the drone has a flight autonomy of up to 52 minutes and can cover the city for a distance of about 40 kilometers. It can also carry a load of up to 6 kilograms, a feature that can be used in emergency situations.
