A recent series of attacks by the Ukrainian defense forces on Tuapse in the Krasnodar Territory of the Russian aggressor country caused damage to the city’s port infrastructure and oil refinery amounting to more than $300 million. After the attacks, Russia will have to completely restore the Rosneft refinery in Tuapse, which will potentially cost $5 billion, Boris Dodonov, head of the Center for Energy and Climate Research at the Kyiv School of Economics, said in a Washington Post commentary published on May 4.
According to him, a series of attacks on the main Russian oil terminals (Ust-Luga and Primorsk in the Baltic Sea, Novorossiysk in the Black Sea) in late March and early April cost Russia approximately $2.2 billion in lost revenue.
At the same time, the expert emphasized that revenues from Russian oil exports have increased due to a sharp rise in prices due to the war with Iran.
