The US Navy will begin, on Monday, May 4, to escort the ships of third countries blocked in the Strait of Hormuz, President Donald Trump announced on Sunday on the Truth Social platform, reports AFP.

The White House leader specified that the measure targets ships belonging to certain states “not involved” in the current conflict with Iran.
“We have informed these countries that we will guide their ships safely through these waterways”Trump wrote on the Truth Social platform
The operation, named “Project Freedom” (“The Freedom Project”), will be launched on Monday morning, Middle East time, the US president said
We remind you that on Sunday, May 3, an oil tanker was hit by unidentified projectiles off the coast of the United Arab Emirates, near the Strait of Hormuz, without causing any casualties, the British maritime security agency UKMTO announced on Monday, quoted by AFP.
“UKMTO received information about an incident 78 nautical miles (145 kilometers) north of Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates,” UKMTO announced on the X platform.
The oiler reported the impact of some “unknown projects”, but the crew is safe, and the authorities have not reported any pollution or other effects on the environment. UKMTO has not yet specified the flag of the tanker.
