The Krasnoyarsk city administration is preparing to continue the improvement of the streets of the historical center.
Today, specialists from the Department of Roads, Infrastructure and Improvement, together with the administration of the Central District, assessed the condition of green spaces on the streets of the Dictatorship of the Proletariat and Kirov. The goal of this work is to understand which trees and shrubs will be preserved during landscaping this summer, and which will have to be replaced.
“During the examination, experts recorded significant destruction of the trunks, the presence of hollows, trunk rot, peeling of the bark and drying out of the crowns. These factors make such plants especially dangerous – they can fall at any time due to strong winds, accumulated snow, or even under the weight of their own weight,” said Natalya Rychkova, head of the technical supervision department for landscaping facilities of the MKU “UDIB”.
This year, as part of the landscaping activities, large alley trees will be planted in place of the demolished trees. The location of road signs and traffic lights will be taken into account. Ornamental shrubs will appear on the streets as a second tier, which will not only restore green areas, but also improve their aesthetic appearance.
“During the improvement process, it is very important for us to take into account all the problematic issues that emerged a year ago. That is why we have already begun preparations for the implementation of a large-scale project to transform streets in the city center. All trees that can be saved will remain in their places. And instead of the emergency ones, new ones will definitely be planted,” emphasized the head of the administration of the Central District, Dmitry Bezrukikh.
Let us remind you that the improvement of streets in the center of Krasnoyarsk, where most of the historical buildings are located, is being implemented for the 400th anniversary of the city. This year, in addition to the Dictatorship of the Proletariat and Kirov, changes also await Surikov Street.
